Terms of use

In force since 17 September 2026 · last updated 17 September 2026

Flora Clue tells you the most likely cause of a plant’s problem and how sure it is. It is help, not an agronomist’s opinion. The subscription is bought from your phone’s store, renews by itself and is cancelled whenever you like from the store settings: what you have already paid for stays valid until the end.

Who the parties are

These terms govern the use of the Flora Clue application and of this website, between you and Simula Valerio Antonello, Milano 20161, Italia — “we” below. By using the app you accept these terms: if you do not accept them, do not use it.

What the app does, and what it is not

You photograph a plant, answer a few questions and receive the most likely cause of the problem, the alternatives in order of probability, what to do now, and a number from 0 to 100 saying how sure we are. If the uncertainty is too high the app says so instead of inventing an answer.

It is not professional advice. Flora Clue is not an agronomic, plant health, medical or veterinary opinion. The guidance is general and based on what the app can see in a photo and in your answers: the decision about what to do with your plant remains yours. For valuable plants, crops, suspected quarantine pests, or doubts about a plant’s toxicity to children and animals, consult a professional or a poison control centre.

The app does not replace your own precautions: always read the labels of the products you use and follow them.

What you need to use it

  • An Android phone or an iPhone running a supported system version.
  • An internet connection for analyses: without one, the app only shows what is already in the diary.
  • To be at least 14 years old. If you are a minor, a parent or guardian must authorise the use and any purchase.

Plans, prices and limits

Prices are in euro and include VAT. The store collects them, not us.

PlanPriceWhat it includes
No subscriptionFreeA sample analysis, as many times as you like. It does not include analyses of your own plants.
TrialFree for 7 daysUp to 10 analyses across the whole trial, at most 5 a day. One trial per store account.
Flora Clue Pro€4.99 a month
or €29.99 a year
Up to 18 analyses a month and 5 a day, diary, reminders, staged recovery and every feature.

Why there are limits. Every analysis has a real cost for us, because it uses recognition services we pay for by use. The caps are what keeps the price where it is: they are sized for normal household use and the vast majority of people never come near them. When you are running low the app tells you before, not after.

How the purchase works

The subscription is bought inside the app, through Google Play or the App Store: the seller of record is the store, which collects the payment, issues the tax document and handles refunds under its own conditions. We never see and never store your card details.

  • Automatic renewal. The plan renews at expiry until you cancel it. The store charges within the 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Free trial. To start it the store asks for a valid payment method, but it charges nothing during the 7 days: the first payment happens at the end, if you have not cancelled before.
  • Cancelling. Done from the store settings, at any time. You stay Pro until the end of the period already paid for. The exact steps are on the Support page.
  • Refunds. Handled by the store. If you think you are entitled to one, write to us anyway: we can support the request.
  • Price changes. If we change the price of a renewal we tell you beforehand, with the notice period the store requires, and you can cancel at no cost.

Right of withdrawal

As a consumer you have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract (Art. 52 of the Italian Consumer Code). For digital content supplied immediately, the right is lost when performance begins with your express agreement and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose it: that is what happens when you confirm the purchase and start using the analyses. Your statutory rights for lack of conformity remain intact (Arts. 128 ff. of the Consumer Code).

To exercise withdrawal, where it applies, go through the store that sold the subscription or write to us at supporto@floraclue.com.

Proper use

We ask you not to do these things, which damage the service or other people:

  • use the app with automated systems, scripts or emulators to multiply analyses;
  • get around the plan limits, the integrity checks or the store’s payments;
  • copy, decompile or redistribute the app and its contents, except as the law allows;
  • upload photos that infringe others’ rights or that show people without their consent;
  • resell the service or use it to offer advice to third parties.

If someone abuses the service we may limit or suspend access, proportionately and after warning where possible.

Content and ownership

The app, the site, the texts, the illustrations, the Flora Clue trade mark and logo are ours. With the subscription you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your devices.

The photos you take remain yours: we do not acquire ownership of them and do not use them for anything else. For the texts you send us with an error report, you give us permission to use them to improve the service, anonymously.

Availability and changes

We do what we can to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors: it also depends on providers and networks we do not control. We may update the app and change or remove features; if a change substantially worsens what you paid for, we tell you beforehand and you can cancel.

If one day we discontinued the service, we would announce it with reasonable notice on this site and in the app, and no period already paid for would be lost without a refund through the store.

Liability

We are liable for foreseeable damage arising directly from a breach on our part. We are not liable for the consequences of the decisions you make about your plant on the basis of what the app suggests, nor for damage caused by improper use, by products you apply, or by factors beyond our control.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, for personal injury, or the rights the law gives you as a consumer: those limitations would be void, and we are not writing them.

If you use Flora Clue on iPhone

The contract is between you and us: Apple is not a party. Apple has no support obligation for the app, which remains ours: for any problem write to supporto@floraclue.com. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

For anything not covered here, Apple’s standard end user licence agreement applies. By using the app you also declare that you are not in a country subject to a United States embargo and that you are not on any list of prohibited parties, as Apple requires.

Governing law and complaints

Italian law applies. For any dispute the court of the consumer’s place of residence or domicile has jurisdiction, if that is in Italy; if you live in another EU country, the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence still apply to you. Before getting there, write to us at supporto@floraclue.com: nearly everything is settled by email.

You may turn to the mediation bodies provided for by Italian law. The European online dispute resolution platform (ODR) has not been operating since 20 July 2025, which is why you will not find the old link here.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for technical or legal reasons or because of new features. The date at the top says when we did. If the change genuinely matters to you, we flag it in the app before it takes effect: continuing to use Flora Clue after that date means accepting them.

These terms are a translation. In case of any discrepancy, the Italian version prevails.
